What a beautiful town Suttons Bay is, and Martha's is the place to eat. We were there with a group of 5 and the service was perfect. All of us enjoyed a very leisurely dinner and everyone was satisfied.

It is hard to find unique/eccentric like Martha's in Northern Michigan, but after researching we wanted to drive in from Empire to try it out. It is very clean and inviting, the outdoor patio also looked beautiful. I was excited to try the "Green Eggs and Ham", it was really good but the green Pesto was under the eggs and you couldn't see it in the presentation on the top of the food which was disappointing. My meal with the homemade bread, and side order of skillet potatoes was very fresh and I am happy we tried it. My wife was looking forward to Cherry Bread French toasts (but they were out of Cherry Bread) overall her meal was solid but we were disappointed we never got to sample the signature bread. We never tried the desserts but the cakes look delicious, this is a great find Northern Michigan.

I tried to eat here twice. The first time I went we dropped in between lunch and dinner and found out they were closed during those hours. We came back another day and drove an hour to get here. Upon our arrival there were many open tables (it was 5:40 p.m). Despite the open talbes we were told we could not be seated for a half hour. I asked if the tables were reserved but was told they were not. My husband and I were told that the restaurnat did not want to "back up" the kitcen. We were planning on ordering their price Prix Fixe special which is not availble after 6 pm. and were told we would not be able to order this as we would be seated after 6 pm. This despite the fact that we were there before 6 pm! We decided to dine at North Country Grill and Pub across the streee. We were seated immediately and had a delighful dinner on their pato.

I worked for Martha's last Summer. Over the course of my life I've worked for 5+ restaurants and Martha's is the only restaurant where I've never grown tired of the food. And I believe the reason for this is simple: Martha cares about what comes out of her kitchen. She's dedicated to organic, fresh, and local down to the basic ingredients... and the difference is palatable. At other restaurants when people ask about how an item on the menu is, a server is generally expected to put on a smile and praise it regardless of the item's actual quality. At Martha's I was never uncomfortable with praising any item on the menu because I knew it was as good as my word, and sharing such quality food allowed my smiles to blossom naturally. Awesome food, incredible people, and a great, relaxing environment make Martha's the best restaurant for which I've ever worked.

Unfortunately we just had a terrible experience here. We have been coming to Marthas since it opened. It has always taken a while to get your food but it is usually good quality. This time was terrible however. After waiting an hour for pancakes they came out burnt and too hard to cut. On top of that one person in out group order sausage that she never received and when we asked our server where it was she said they were out of sausage and the kitchen was too busy to make her something else (bacon or sausage links). We also overheard the waitress tell two tables next to us that they couldn't order yet because the kitchen needed to catch up. Both of the tables had been there for 30 minutes waiting to order. When we finally got our bill the waitress never even took the time to take off the side of sausage we never received. I would not recommend going here anymore when there are other options that are quicker and have better quality service and food

They do almost eveything right. Service is quick, friendly, and accomodating (we wanted 3 tables together on the patio). The house, even though it opened 3 years ago, is very clean and looks like a recent and very good remodel. The owner came out to chat and the two young, male servers were very friendly. All 6 of us enjoyed the food but I'd like to give Martha 2 suggestions: -Offer fresh bread for the sandwiches, not all of us like our sammies toasted. Note: They accomdated me with this request although I could tell they were a little unsure when I first asked. -Be a little more generous with the fillings (lunch meat, veggies, and sauces). All in all a very nice meal and I loved sitting outside, under a nice canopy and viewing the bay across the street.

This is a delightful place to dine, and the food is very well and thoughtfully done. Service was very friendly. And I really appreciated being able to enjoy an affordable but very nice white Rhone with dinner. We will be back.

Food OK but wait staff pretentious and slow. I've been there 4 times for lunch and dinner and was disappointed my last 2 times. The food is usually delicious but the last time I only ate a few bites of my dinner, the fish was grainy tasting (corn meal). They were kind enough to not charge me but the service there is usually terrible. My first time was the best time, I will keep that as a fond memory.

5 stars regionally, (4 elsewhere.) Breakfast is good here and I have nothing to complain about in the food department, however, I was disappointed with the coffee. Perhaps replace the automatic drip preparation method with some French Presses or a single cup pour over method.

Just stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this place. Casual seating in a house-turned restaurant. I had a tomato bisque type soup that was fresh and delicious. The other notable meal at the table was a tuna salad, that was vinegar-based, I think the waitress said mediterranean in style, instead of mayo based. My girlfriend loved it and thought it was a great find and pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend this place if you are in suttons bay.

My first experience here was kinda just OK. Second experience was A-OK. Maybe next time I'll be a fan. The first thing I tried here was the breakfast sandwich on sourdough. It was pretty bland and needed some fat to help get the flavors going a bit. Whatever. I'd been traveling across the country and hot food that didn't come from an airport was all I wanted. Plus hot coffee. Service was a little slow and wobbly. Second time here I tried the Senor Pig, only the pig part was a little screwed up because they were out of sausage (!). I'm believing that they were super busy and it was over the Christmas holiday, hence the lack of sausage. The dish was a corn tortilla topped with salsa, sour cream, eggs, Mexican frijoles, shredded white cheddar and bacon. Definitely would have been better with sausage, but was pretty good with the bacon. I love the ambiance, and it's definitely a local hangout - everyone greets you warmly and as if you're a long time friend. Patrons come and hang out and eat slowly. Maybe that's why the service is a little slow... but no matter, this is Leelanau - you're not in a hurry if you're in this county. Looking forward to giving this another go when I'm back in town again.

I liked sitting out on the patio, even though it was a cooler summer morning when I visited. I had a tomato and egg sandwich, with arugula and cheese. Normally, when I see arugula on anything I think "frou frou," but it actually worked in this case. And I don't even really like the stuff. Yummy. I got a side of potatos too, now those were really good (they were cooked with peppers and onions is what was said on the menu, but I didn't taste or see very many of them...though I guess they cook down alot). They gave me some ketchup and hot sauce, but I didn't see who the maker of the hot sauce was (it was good though, more like a tabasco). I just had water to drink, though they do carry what I think is some great tea (light of the day, yay localness). The side orders were all 5$, a little high, but it tasted good so *shrugs.* I'd come again for brunch or breakfast, I saw some really pretty pancakes on someone else's plate. They do serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Open 8-3 for breakfast/brunch/lunch, I didn't notice the dinner hours.

We ate dinner here on a Friday night in August while passing through Suttons Bay. Atmosphere: Martha's offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating area is small but comfortable and is nicely decorated. I would not recommend this for groups larger than four or for groups with children under 16. We chose the outside seating since it was a warm and breezy summer evening. Service: We did not make reservations but they had room on their schedule to serve us. We were seated at 6:25 p.m. and received water within 10 minutes. We then placed our order at 6:40 p.m. I ordered their pan fried whitefish special of the evening while my wife ordered the penna pasta with spinach & cream sauce special of the evening. We finally received our food at approximately 7:25 p.m. While servers were pleasant, it's possible that they were understaffed that evening since everyone had similar lengthy wait times to receive food & drink refills. Food: I'll give Martha's a 9/10 on presentation as both dishes were delightful visually. As for flavor, I'd rate the whitefish dish at 6.5/10 and the penne pasta a 7/10. Wine: They have an exceptionally good and varied list of locally produced wines. Price & Value: The tab for our meals (which included a rather bland salad) and a single bottle of Bell's Amber Ale ran $43.00. Overall, I felt Martha's was a poor value given the price & service. There are better choices available in Sutton's Bay and definitely more value within a short 12 mile drive south to Traverse City. Payment Note: This place does not accept American Express cards. Given the menu prices, this is rather disappointing.

My husband and I went here for a late lunch on a Thursday. The menu was varied and interesting. We both enjoyed our sandwich. I ordered the Tuscan veggie. My husband ordered the cubanetta, which was the Cuban with olive relish. Both were really delicious. We were glad we stumbled upon this place.

I was so excited to try this restaurant based on the rave reviews. We got the french onion soup. It was okay. It looked like it was made with chicken broth over beef which made it not taste like the real thing but still decent. I don't know why I order crab cakes when I go to restaurants, they always sound so good but this place like about 90% of the places I've had them were dry. The potatoes were cold and we were there as soon as they opened so there wasn't an excuse for them to be that way or to taste like instant. (I'm sure they weren't but they tasted that way and I think it was because of the temp) We weren't going to get dessert but he overheard them talking about carrot cake (his favorite) so he ordered some. I got tempted by the "sugar and spice" cake. Since spice is my favorite I figured I couldn't go wrong. I gave him the first bite and he said it was okay but not as wonderful as his carrot cake. I went in for my bite and the cake crumbled apart. I smooshed it together with my fork and it was bad. I tried for one more bite but it kept falling apart. I didn't eat any more. Not even 1/4 of it gone and the server asked if I didn't like it and I told her no, it was really dry. She offered me something else but nothing else appealed to me. It would've been a nice gesture to take it off the bill but they didn't especially since the servers attitude changed from welcoming to "you can leave now" after politely telling her I didn't care for it when she asked. Hubby agreed despite his cake being so good, we won't be back.

This place is so Leelanau County in all the best ways. I'm from this area and on a recent visit stopped by Martha's for breakfast. First off, the setting is great--we sat outside, but it has such a cozy, homey feel inside. Martha Ryan (the owner) focuses on fresh, local foods. Several of the egg dishes featured Blackstar Farms cheese (located just down the road). As for the egg and tomato sandwich (with arugula) I had, it was so flavorful that it tasted like the toppings were picked fresh that morning. Our coffee was also nice and strong and our waitress totally sweet. I've also sampled their scones (made in house) and was very pleased. Don't pass this place up if you make it to Suttons Bay---not only are the food and service great, but the price is right!

When we stay in Suttons Bay, Martha's is usually our first choice for breakfast. We love the fact that so many menu items are sourced locally, and that the menu tells us where the ingredients come from. We love -- well, everything on the breakfast menu!;-) (The pancakes and breakfast potatoes are two of our favorites, and we also love the local cherry-pecan breakfast sausage.) We have also had a very lovely dinner at Martha's -- they have a limited dinner service during the tourist season, with interesting menus that, again, showcase local foods when possible. And -- even if you just need a coffee and nosh during the day, Martha's has a variety of pastries, and pleasant seating inside and out. We enjoy the changing gallery of local artwork, and the cozy atmosphere of the interior.

Whether a "local" or a visitor to the area, the staff at Martha's treats you you like a friend with service that is superior but not obtrusive. The entrees are creative, and include a range of choices from "UpNorth" to cosmopolitan to international. Not too many restaurants do so much with fresh ingredients, creative prep, and great service. Martha's is easy to come to again and again!

Cute little restaurant, great ambiance, quality ingredients, delicious food!! I haven't seen a lot of restaurants in the area that are concerned with organic, locally sourced food so I really appreciate Martha's!! Love the outdoor seating too!

I'd heard much about Martha's Table and wanted to love it. The place is charming and the menu was very tempting. However, both the service and the food fell a little short. Our waiter clearly wasn't clued into what we were looking for when we talked as a table about mimosas and said we wanted sparkling wine all around, but 3 with oragne juice. He brought our bottle of sparkling wine and 3 gigantic glasses of OJ. I was excited about my order, the Happy Rooster. But when it arrived, the eggs were pretty badly overcooked and what was advertised as arugula came out spring greens. A small detail, but I was looking forward to the bitter contrast. I'll definitely return and give the Table another chance to impress, as I suspect it might.

A bistro in Sutton's Bay, it prides itself on a farm to table concept changing the menu with what is in season in the area. It's dishes are basic intentionally, but like most things in the area, the prices are not. I always order egg dishes for breakfast and they have a nice variety here, but it feels a little lacking when you order two egg dishes, two coffee drinks and a side it hits $50 with tip. We were seated on a little two-top on the edge of the dining room, so we had a ton of foot traffic, guests waiting to be seated and it just felt cramped, which is the opposite of how I want to feel for the first meal of the day. On top of that the service felt rushed, I hate feeling like an afterthought to the waitstaff and I did here. To Recap: The Good: A wide variety of egg dishes, which was nice. Specialty coffee drinks were pricey, but well done. They have a sitting area outside that offers a nice waiting spot for a few people, which ended up being nicer than where we were seated for our meal. The Bad: Asked for hot sauce, a must with my eggs, but was given Lizano, a sort of Costa Rican salsa/sauce, which was almost empty. By the time the waitress came back to check on us, I had already eaten 3/4 of my food. The Band This Restaurant Most Resembles: Three Doors Down. It's OK, but they just never come to mind.

We visited Martha's last weekend at the recommendation of a nearby innkeeper and we were delighted! The menu is interesting and diverse and the food is absolutely delicious. The decor is cozy and comfortable and the staff made our visit extra special. They are all friendly and helpful. Martha's will be a regular stop whenever we visit beautiful Suttons Bay!

Wow!! What a lunch. This little house packs a punch! I first rated this 4 stars, and then asked myself - what's keeping them from 5, nothing. We had the soup of the day, red pepper cauliflower chowder. Top notch! We ordered a French dip, Marie's (can't remember the name but has turkey, avocado, tomatoes, bacon and s jalapeño mayo), Philly steak, and croquet momma (or something like that - fried egg, Swiss cheese sauce and ham). Loved all of them. Plus the wine was good. Will be back.

My wife had the land of delight sandwich. the Cherry bread was excellent and the turkey and dressing was delicious. unfortunately it was little over toasted .I had the special which was the pulled pork sandwich. the bun again was over toasted and the pork a bit dry,it also had slaw on the sandwich with a good flavor but again a bit dry. ....im sorry for the apparent complaining,if in the area we will try again. the flavors were good, the service was great and friendly and we did see quite a great desert case..

The food was good but it was a tough evening. We were a party of 9 and only when we got to the restaurant did they tell us we couldn't sit together which was unfortunate as it was our last night together as a family. I tried to order four different bottles of wine only to be told they had none of them. Finally, one of the kids in our party got buttered noodles and the noodles were under cooked and crunchy. Disappointing evening......

Delicious food, personable staff, this is not a typical N Michigan menu with dried cherries on a bed of lettuce or basic whitefish. Martha uses locally sourced ingredients and hand crafted, unique entrees. They get very busy during tourist season - if you go eat in July during peak times, any restaurant with a small kitchen may reach their critical mass... This neighborhood gem executes well, even under pressure. Small house serves as the dining room with a quaint patio with covered outside seating. This staff has heart! Highly recommend.

Went for lunch with two teenageers and a mother-in-law for lunch. Very good lunch fare, delicious sandwiches and soups. Portions reasonable and flavors wonderful. Save room for dessert; while all desserts were great (rich homemade chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate fallen angel cake, and seasonal rhubarb cake), the chevre bavarian chiffon cake is TO DIE FOR! Just enough tang to set off the sweet blueberry sauce, and though large, it was light enough that I am embarrassed to admit; I ate the whole thing! Our inquiries to the waitress brought the famous pastry chef Carrie Ballou to our table, a very special treat! Patio seating was intimate and lovely, service was gracious. We will be back!

Excellent little cafe. Order the raclette made with local cheese. The soups and sandwiches were inventive and hearty, and the cappucino was good too. The room decor was colorful but outdated, It was priced a little higher than the rest of the area and I would stick to groups less than 4. However the food quality was absolutely wonderful which is what matters most to us, and our no-nonsense server was helpful and kind. Recommend it highly!

I've had better experiences here in the past, but this morning was a disappointment. I ordered the potato skillet and some bacon. The skillet was bland. Had to keep putting salt on it, which helped a little. My wife's breakfast was luke warm, and according to her it was bland. I tried one of my step mom's cherry sausage links and it was totally bland. Cheap bob evans sausage tastes way better unfortunately. Honestly I was just really surprised at the blandness of things.

Our lunch was good - but not great. The restaurant certainly did not live up to my expectations, based on other reviews. The ingredients of the sandwiches were of good quality. But the taste was nothing phenomenal. In short, it was not a wow.

We liked our dinner and loved our breakfast here. Delicious roasted shiitake mushrooms as a side at dinner were the memorable order, the rest was good but not overwhelming. Service was excellent as was the setting. They do use a lot of local ingredients. At breakfast, the scones were fabulous and we loved the Happy Rooster and the Jonesy. Our little critter had a bowl of oatmeal loaded with plump blueberries which made him very happy. Next day he ordered blueberry pancakes and lived them, too.

The turkey and bacon sandwich with maple mayo on cherry bread is unforgettably delicious! The location is cute, if a bit small, and the prices are reasonable. My boyfriend enjoyed a turkey sandwich with jalapeno mayo - just the right hint of spice. I recommend coming here for lunch for a truly "up north" meal.

Being one of the first 70+ degree nights in the area -- we were searching for a patio to enjoy a leisurely mother/daughter dinner. We found such a place at Martha's Leelanau Table, a charming restaurant located within a rehabbed A-Frame cottage/house on St. Joseph Street near Downtown Suttons Bay. If you've been looking for a quaint village to visit during your vacation "Up North" you've surely found it, and Martha's should be on your list. They have a very nice side patio area to enjoy dinner, drinks, etc -- though no one else was sitting out on this particular evening, they accommodated service anyway. We started out with a few glasses of wine (the Cab from Napa was delightful, full-bodied and the pours quite generous. Though I'd expect that for a $12 price point!) -- my mom had an Italian varietal. Only a few bottles offered by the glass, but a nice selection and the ones we did try were high quality. As Martha was in the midst of changing the menu from early Spring to late Spring there were quite a few modications -- but all positive. We ended up going with the Pork Loin topped with cherry chutney, the Salmon with peston and a Bleu Cheese salad. Pork Loin: 3 stars. A bit dry for pork, and the cherry chutney overpowered it -- quite heavy and sweet. The mash that accompanied it felt a bit heavy. Overall the dish was average. For $26, the execution needs to be a bit better in my opinion. Salmon: 5 stars. Fresh, flavorful. Very nicely prepared. $23 Bleu Cheese starter salad: 4 stars. Again a bit heavy, but tasty and fresh. It's bleu cheese after all, so I wasn't expecting light and fluffy! $9 Our total check ended up at around $95 + tip. Not inexpensive by any means, but the menu is very well thought out, the service excellent and the ambience perfect for an early summer/late spring evening. The pork was a bit of a miss but I think with changing the menu and experimenting a bit they are always evolving. Would surely come back for coffee, sandwiches, desserts, and dinner for a special occasion. The price point puts it a bit out of range for a regular dinner but I was happy to treat my mom, sit in the sun and sample the menu of a Suttons Bay staple.

The Puerto Rican breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. Comparable to Traverse City's Patisserie Amie and Frenchies in presentation, service and taste. The pre-meal scone was excellent. Highly recommended.

Food is generally very good but service and staff can be hit or miss, docking a star from the rating. We really dislike the high top tables (back killers) and always request a regular table, but we are often seated there anyway - seems like an easy accommodation to grant! On the plus aide: pets are welcome on the patio, and they added an online reservation system that will accept parties fewer than 5 people.

Wonderful concept but very poorly executed. Slow, forgetful, pleasant but seemingly inexperienced waitstaff. All but one in teens or twentys; no one appearing to care about prompt service or accurately filling our simple orders. Kitchen unable to handle 2 orders of poached eggs for us. Yet had only 1/2 tables full. Very disappointing. Comped our breakfast, which we appreciated but would have preferred to have paid for the experience we had anticipated.

We ate here on the recommendation of the B&B owners where we stayed just down the block. Martha's s in a vintage home, and having just walked down the block from our B&B, eating here felt a bit like dropping into a friend's home for a very elegant dinner party. The regular menu entrees are classics like herb roasted pork tenderloin, Lake & Steak (with beef tenderloin and local whitefish) and the baked scallops (which were my dinner choice). I also like Martha's emphasis on using local produce and product like the great Leelanau Raclette Cheese and seasonal veggies. Great for a quiet and romantic dinner. Reservations are definitely a good idea for dinner as the place is small. It can be a bit pricey, but there is an early-bird prix fixe option with three courses for $17.

We are locals from Northport and we come here every chance we get. The food is outstanding...every bite a treat. I had the rack of lamb (the special that night) for dinner and it was out of this world with a dab of pesto on it that was made from fresh ingredients..what a delight. The setting is lovely, the staff friendly and it was fun to talk with the owner (Martha) who gets out to meet her customers whenever she has a chance. The soft music on the patio was an added bonus and not too loud so conversation was possible. If you haven't been here yet please go,..but try to make reservations in the summer because it is busy and filled with appreciative customers like ourselves. Wendy and Peter

We were there for lunch. The waitress was very friendly. I had the French dip. It didn't have much flavor. The aujus was bland and the grilled bread was not so fresh. My husband had the cheesesteak. He wished the bread was grilled and it was stale. He asked for a side of BBQ sauce and when it came it was a bottle of Jack Daniels BBQ from the grocery store with the price tag still on. My kids split the Croque Madame and said it was good. The place was cute and quaint and the restroom was clean.

I had lunch here with Mom while on a sweatshirt shopping exhibition to Suttons Bay. The restaurant is in a small house with lots of cozy nooks. They also have a decent-sized patio, which is where we sat. The service is casual ("folksy"). Others were complaining about it being slow, but it wasn't bad at all. Where on earth could someone have to hurry off to in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon in August in Suttons Bay? Wine tasting, I guess. Calm down, people. I had their soup and sandwich special. Veggie soup and a turkey sandwich. It was good. Freshly made and with good flavors. Overall, Martha's makes a nice lunch stop on a sunny day.

I have been wanting to go to Martha's for ages and this summer, I was lucky enough to go twice, and both times were an incredible treat. Homemade soups, like Moroccan Carrot and Roasted Tomato with Red Bell Pepper were outstanding. I had the Tuna Tartine on my first visit and loved it. It was light and delicious, full of flavor. I chose the Prix Fixe for dinner on our second visit, and my fish was cooked beautifully. The "Tres Leches" cake that came with my meal was excellent, very traditional, I loved it. I can't wait to go back again and those who were with me felt the same. Charming decor, very friendly staff.

Had lunch here the other day. Good food, but service not so good. I know this is a bad time of year with college students taking off, but please, for their sakes and the sake of your establishment, give these workers some better training. There was nothing they did wrong, but it was obvious, they really didn't know what to do.

As an "out-of-towner," recommendations are always welcome. The owners of the house we rented suggested Martha's and I'm so glad they did. With a larger group of seven we made advanced dinner reservations. It is a small place with seating indoors of probably under 50 so this was a good idea. We were served a complimentary amuse bouche which was a lovely surprise. Little toasts with fresh goat cheese. Our waiter was very good, but seemed a little nervous. We weren't sure if he was newer, or if it was because he had a waiter's assistant/trainee? But he fumbled over the specials, and was not able to pronounce a couple things. Wine selection was very good, although we were surprised at how few were local selections. Our table split two servings of the local Leelanau Rachlette cheese starter. It was excellent, and served with small pickles, peppers, and toasts. Most people got the house salad with shallot vinaigrette which was excellent. I'm not a huge shallot person and asked if there was an alternate which their wasn't. But ultimately was very happy with it, as it was light and still flavorful. I ordered the scallops, which were in a butter garlic sauce. Very yummy. I was able to try bites of the tenderloin which was excellent, and a chicken special they had which was dry. Overall only one person at the table was not thrilled with their entree-- so I would stay away from chicken or specials, and stick to the strong daily entrees. Lastly the table shared two desserts. The Lemon Ricotta cheesecake was ridiculously good. Creamy, with just enough lemon. And it was a light cheesecake, not one that leaves you feeling like you have a bowling ball in your tummy. The three layer chocolate mouse pie was also heavenly, and I'm not a even a huge chocolate lover! Martha even came out to greet us at the end of the meal. She was a doll, and our whole table was smitten. How great to own a restaurant that you obviously love, and also be able to indulge in some wine while working!? She was a stitch! She even sold us a bit of fresh ground for the morning since we were without. It was even fabulous! Overall a great experience! I almost gave it 4 stars because of the price, but they do have a prix fixe option which I would absolutely suggest to a first timer. If I am ever in the area, I would go back in a heartbeat! Thanks Martha!

Rude NOT customer-focused seating by the pushy Matriarch (really, it that necessary?!). Weird server. Okay food that is WAY overpriced. Don't bother.

I live here in Suttons Bay, so I'm pretty confident in saying that Martha's is quite good. It's certainly not cheap (a side order of 2 sausage patties for $5.00 - ouch!), but the food is generally excellent. On a recent breakfast visit, I had the $12 GODZILLA (3 eggs scrambled with 2 Pleva sausage links, rice & beans, potatoes and cheddar cheese). It was very, very good -- AND quite filling, no need for a side dish of anything. I'm sure that, before she launched this venture, Martha surveyed the restaurant scene in Suttons Bay and concluded "There's room at the top". She was right, and she has found her niche.

I am giving 3 stars as I can't review the food and it wouldn't be fair to give one star, which I am really feeling. After we were seated in a very friendly and professional manner, we were then ignored for 30 minutes, no one coming to the table, bo one asking about drinks, wait staff not acknowledging eye contact so we politely excused ourselves and left. We were in no hurry and could gave easily grabbed a server as they chatted with everyone around us but I was more interested in seeing how long this would go on but my wife pulled the plug on my experiment after 30 minutes. Food might be good but we will not be back!

We stopped here for breakfast after a run and had excellent service and awesome food. I got the vegetable hash with over medium eggs and country grain bread. The eggs were perfectly done and I added mushrooms to the hash - no extra charge and they were amazing. Bread was great too. My fiancé got the st tropez baked eggs. He loved it and the bread that came with it was delicious too. Would definitely go back!

Absolutely fantastic breakfast, so good that we may go back again tomorrow. The coffee is fresh. I got a breakfast burrito which was great. It was big and full of potatoes and had melted cheese on top. My wife got a grilled vegetable, almost skillet, with eggs on top. Vegetables were cooked perfectly and marinated really well. Love this place!!

Lovely place for breakfast when you're in the Sutton's Bay area. We were looking for a place to eat that was pet friendly since we had our puppy. Walking by we saw a sign right out front that said furry companions were welcome so, one quick glance at the menu and we were in! I can't speak to the inside since we ate on the patio but the patio itself is beautiful. You're surrounded by an iron gate, tons of flowers and greenery, and there's a shade sail over the whole patio so you're protected by the sun. Fresh air without the burn! The menu is on the smaller side but everything sounds delicious. My boyfriend and mom got the St. Tropez baked eggs (2 scrambled eggs with fresh spinach, bacon, Shetler's cream, & parmesan cheese) and it was quite good. The eggs were so fluffy and the flavor combos had be reaching for both their plates more than once! I myself got the cherry french toast. I liked it but I was kind of expecting thicker slices, like more of a challah or something. But it was good. Just not sure I'd get it again should we return. I do like that they try and keep things seasonal and local, though! Prices for breakfast were fairly reasonable (about $10-13 per plate) but maybe on the higher side given the portions. They also serve lunch and dinner and their website tells me they also offer cooking classes which sounds delightful! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. With or without the dog (who, by the way, had a nice nap under our table as we ate!)

We were walking around Suttons Bay and stumbled upon Martha's. The patio was inviting and a great place to enjoy another beautiful northern Michigan summer day. I was going to order the BLT but the sever told me she likes the Santa Fe BLT better as it has jalapeño mayo and avocado on it (along with turkey) and it was grilled on a panini maker. Yum!!! It was delicious! Only kettle chops were served with it. I could eat that sandwich again tomorrow! My sister ordered the special sandwich of the day, a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. She said it was good. My brother in law ordered the Croque Madam. It didn't look too exciting to me. The service was fair.... Seemed a little slow, but when you are just at vacation pace that didn't matter. I do recommend this bistro!!!

Martha's is my favorite place to frequent in our small town. The Leelanau Scrambler or Happy Rooster are my go to breakfasts on the weekend. If you're needing a carb fix, the French toast is Devine and if you're lucky you might be able to catch a warm scone. Great coffee, and we love the porch in the summer. I crave the cherry chicken salad from her lunch menu, it is the best around, and there are a lot of places in the area with cherry chicken salad. The land if delight is pretty tasty too! Dinner is always good, the menu changes frequently. I wish that breakfast was available on Saturdays in the winter, it's too busy for us to get in when they are only open Sunday. Also we were very disappointed last winter when our 2 day cooking class was canceled on us, twice, the day before. Kind of a bummer as I was pregnant, we are regular customers, do not have every weekend together, and because of the short notice we were not able to make other plans for two of our last weekends as a family of two. Either way - food is great!

5 stars regionally, (4 elsewhere.) Breakfast is good here and I have nothing to complain about in the food department, however, I was disappointed with the coffee. Perhaps replace the automatic drip preparation method with some French Presses or a single cup pour over method.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast, so good that we may go back again tomorrow. The coffee is fresh. I got a breakfast burrito which was great.

Best breakfast. Loved the patio. Sweet staff. If I lived here, I'd eat here all the time.

Breakfast was a disaster. Wait staff was confused and service was chaotic. Menus continued misprints. we were given no silverware and stirred our coffee with a straw. One person's food brought ten minutes before the rest of us. One small serving of jam for seven people. credit card machine did not work. Martha needs to do better.

Our lunch was good - but not great. The restaurant certainly did not live up to my expectations, based on other reviews. The ingredients of the sandwiches were of good quality. But the taste was nothing phenomenal. In short, it was not a wow.
